It is with great sadness that we heard that Mary Annavedder recently passed away. Mary was a dedicated referee for many years and brought a smile to everyone she worked with. Her husband of 47 years, Ed, was with her at the end after a battle with pneumonia, and she passed away comfortably at home with her family. Our deepest condolences go out to her family.
Starting at Summer Nationals this year, referees will not be required to add up touches scored and received after their pools prior to turning in their scoresheet to the Bout Committee. As in the past, fencers will still need to sign the scoresheet indicating that the scores are recorded correctly. This change should help minimize time spent in between pools.
